Welcome to the IOST Dapp Rankings v1.3!
On a bi-weekly basis, Q (the dapp lead at Sutler Ventures) will release his latest rankings of dapps within the IOST network. The list includes a ranking from A-F (A being best, F being worst). Users are encouraged to forward dapps they believe should be reviewed and ranked, as well as comment on the existing rankings.
*None of the following content should be construed as financial, investment, legal, or any other type of advice. Users should do their own research before interacting or investing in any type of blockchain/cryptocurrency project.
Another dApp rankings, another addition from the IOSTPlay team. This time it’s the addition of a DeFi feature via the Guppys dashboard, a lending and borrowing tool for IOST and iPlay token holders.
Essentially, IOST holders can lend out their IOST (90 day period) and in return receive a high monthly yield of iPlay tokens which they can then stake to the platform for even further dividends or sell on IOSTDEX . While iPlay borrowers look to use their unused iPlay as collateral for interest-free IOST loans.
TokenPocket continues along as best-in-class for wallets that offer IOST support. IOSTABC, the team behind one of the more popular IOST block explorers has just released a wallet competitor, PureWallet, which will receive a review and placement on our next rankings.
One note: I was frustrated to find that the app had been removed from the iOS App Store, apparently the team is launching a new version here shortly….
I’m still staking (and accumulating at a 20.15% APR) the 10,000 VOST that I traded for with equivalent (1:1) IOST. The lightning feature allows me to redeem my IOST instantly as opposed to waiting 7 days for the unstaking process. Still my favorite dApp based on utility.
Endless Dice +1
Endless Game got the community’s message (and mine) that they had been neglecting communication for far too long. The once flagship dApp on IOST is getting back to its old ways, boasting the highest 24H AND 7Day User Volume on the network by a wide margin, and with the team back on social media to interact with their members, it may be soon that we see Endless back on top.
There are a few vital infrastructure needs every chain ecosystem must have in order to gain a level of functionality and user autonomy, and a decentralized exchange is one of them. The network was in sore need of a DEX for it’s growing number of dApp tokens and the IOSTWin team is providing that platform. The competition will come quick (DDEX comes to mind…) but for now this is the HUB for exchanging IOST mainnet tokens.
I said this last week, and it still applies:
I don’t know what I’d do without iWallet. No other browser alternative has sprung up from in or outside the ecosystem. Cheers to the developers on this one.
IOSTVegas is the hottest kid on the block. The team comes over from a Top 10-20 ranked TRON dApp (TronVegas) with visions of establishing the same success on IOST. At face value, I really enjoy the interface as well as the Roulette and IOSTSpin games that provide more entertainment and design than games on competing platforms.
Side note: I just realized IOSTSpin is the same “Choose-the-Color” game Chuck-E-Cheese and other Arcade shops marketed to me when I was young. Kinda messed up for Chuck-E to do that. LOL.
The Good News: I can set up an IOST wallet on CoboWallet without using a private key. A new user lacks basic understanding and frankly doesn’t care enough about the level of security that an imported private key account provides. I’ll therefore use this account to store limited funds for transferring and interacting with dApps without losing any sleep.
The Bad News: The only dApp on your explorer is IOSTJoy. I’ve expressed my love of snake survival games, but let’s fill this explorer out! If you guys need some help here @me @thatdappguy.
First of all, thank you IOSTWin team for the updates to IOSTDEX and providing this service to the community as a whole. The gambling platform leaves much to be desired but holds a respectful amount of users and volume so WIN stays ahead of the rest of the pack.
There seems to still be major 24User/24Tx discrepancies as it relates to IOSTJoy on the various dApp explorers. I’m going to reach out to the team and see what the issue is. In the meantime, users and volume are up and the JOY token was listed on IOSTDEX, meaning there is some development going on behind the scenes.
CryptoNinja will have to continue to innovate if it wants to accrue and maintain a user base. I would like to see an improved dashboard where I could monitor all assets at once as opposed to flipping around to each page.
I said this last week, and it still applies:
The IOSTVoter tool, also from Liebi, seems redundant. There are other (better) options for viewing and voting for BPs on our network.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light, GAMEADC.
Liar Game -1
After taking a wait and see approach, and even with the platform’s integration into OnBlock, it seems that LiarGame was a flash in the pan. I’d like to see the team over at OnBlock take a more measured approach when it comes to adding (and subtracting) to their stable of dApps.
