Hello buidlers and community members, welcome back to our monthly AMA with app founders from the Blockstack community!

This time, we are very excited to have Jessica of Dcasso and Colin and Álvaro from Reclaim join Dapp.com Dev Community AMA to answer all the questions from the community in the zoom call!

Ever wondered how the teams decided to start building dapps on top of Blockstack? What it feels like to be a Can't Be Evil advocate? How do they deal with data privacy and the real business world? What are their upcoming projects? Mark your calendar because this is your time to get all those questions answered.

Here's the Full Video If You Missed the AMA:

About Our Guests

Jessica from Dcasso

Jessica is a young software engineer in the greater Boston area. She likes to code while eating and traveling. Jessica joined the community that was fighting for fundamental digital rights back in August of 2019. Dcasso was her second Blockstack app, which is a fun and judgment-free drawing platform.

With Dcasso, you're given a random prompt and a set time, you're tested on how fast and creative you can come up with a drawing. It’s not about drawing the prettiest sketch but it’s about fun and creativity

Colin and Álvaro from Reclaim

Colin is CEO and one of the two co-founders of Reclaim, based in Austin, TX.  Colin spent several years in early-stage venture capital and has had prior entrepreneurial pursuits in the crypto space.  He became part of the Blockstack community in 2019 with Reclaim and is committed to making data ownership free and accessible to everyone.

Álvaro co-founded Reclaim with Colin in Austin, TX after spending several years in government relations and higher education administration.  Focused on the intersection of governance, technology, and personal data autonomy, Álvaro joined the Blockstack community in 2019 with Reclaim.

Reclaim is developing your solution to data ownership: one user-driven tool to download, opt-out, and delete your data from across the web.
Private by design, Reclaim is proud to be built with Blockstack, employing Blockstack ID for user authentication and Blockstack’s secure and decentralized Gaia storage. Reclaim has nearly completed its first round of fundraising, and is actively hiring. Reclaim is working to provide everyone with the ability to exercise active control over their own data.

About Blockstack

Blockstack is a full-stack decentralized computing network that enables a new generation of applications where developers and users can interact fairly and securely. It allows users to own their own data and take it with them from app to app in the ecosystem, along with their Blockstack ID that eliminates the need for password-based logins.

More than 4 years of R&D with a team of Princeton PhDs and peer-reviewed papers led to Blockstack developer tools and a decentralized ecosystem. These tools offer an easy-to-use, scalable way for developers to build secure blockchain-powered applications and for users to easily connect with these applications. Over 10,000 members in the community of enthusiasts and developers have built more than 400+ independent apps on the network with more being added every day through App Mining.

Also, if you are not going to ask any questions this time but you are interested in Dapp.com AMA sessions, you are more than welcome to come by and check it out anytime!
